Start by identifying the part number on your existing relief valve or checking your equipment's parts documentation. Compare that information with our replacement hydraulic relief valve listings, including the stated equipment applications and valve references. Depending on the hydraulic system, you may also need to confirm the valve type, pressure setting, and machine configuration before selecting a replacement.

Not necessarily. Main relief valves, swing motor relief valves, and other pressure-control valves may have different functions, specifications, and installation requirements. Similar appearance does not confirm compatibility. We recommend matching the original valve identification and checking the relevant hydraulic circuit requirements before ordering.

Pressure settings depend on the specific valve and application. Some relief valves may have a specified factory setting, while others may require application-specific adjustment or verification. Do not assume a replacement has the correct setting unless this is confirmed in its product information. Always follow the applicable equipment or valve manufacturer's service specifications.

Before installation, compare the replacement with your original valve. Check the part number, dimensions, connection or cartridge configuration, and any identification markings relevant to the application. Make sure the component matches the required hydraulic circuit. Hydraulic systems can retain dangerous pressure, so follow the equipment manufacturer's pressure-release and installation procedures before working on the system.

A continuing pressure problem does not necessarily mean the replacement valve is defective. Other hydraulic components, system conditions, or an incorrect valve specification may contribute to the symptoms. Confirm the replacement valve's application and have the system inspected using the manufacturer's diagnostic procedures and appropriate pressure-testing equipment. Avoid making unverified pressure adjustments.
